Writing for Salt on the Net
In order to participate in this ministry, we require a written statement of faith.
This document should describe a time when you decided that Jesus Christ should
be your Lord and Savior, and how your life has been impacted by that decision.
We believe that the Bible mandates that we make a conscious decision to follow Jesus:
Mark 8:34-35 Then he called the
crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me,
he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to
save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel
will save it.
We would prefer that individuals who develop devotions to have some background
in a teaching ministry. Writers are expected to have some current or previous
volunteer ministry experiences, whether teaching or not. We also require that
writers have experience working in the business world, as this is the target
audience of Salt on the Net.
The process of becoming a writer starts with submitting your statement of faith
and a sample devotion. The sample devotion needs to follow
the current Salt on the Net format. This material will be distributed to all active
writers, who are encouraged to prayerfully consider how to proceed. The Managing
Editor will collect any feedback from the writers, and notify the potential author
of a decision. The process can take a number of weeks. The contributor must be able to
commit to writing a week's worth of devotions, approximately five times a year.
Forward the above information, and a sample devotion, to:
webmaster@sotn.org. Use the subject title: SaltService.
